License Agreement

The provisions below are an agreement between the Nonprofit Partnership "Center of Promoting Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking" (NP CPRWCT), acting on behalf of the RWCT International Consortium (hereafter Consortium) and the User of the website of the international program "Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking" (RWCT) (www.rwct.net www.rwct.org www.ct-net.net), defining the terms of using information provided by the RWCT site.
I. General Provisions
1. By using the RWCT site, the User agrees to these terms of use. The Consortium reserves the right to modify these terms without previous notification of the User. The new terms become effective from the moment of their publication on the RWCT site.
2. These terms are not extended to organizations of any ownership pattern, individual businessmen, and other individuals rendering services similar to those offered by the RWCT Site, as well as advertisement services within the global information network. To coordinate the terms of cooperation, such users should contact the Consortium.
3. The Consortium provides the User with access to various materials placed on the RWCT site. Materials created by the Consortium and its partners and placed at the discretion of the Consortium on its site are protected by acts of international legislation on authors' rights.
The use/quotation of such materials is permissible only with a reference to the RWCT site and the sites from which they have been obtained to be placed on the RWCT site. Other use/quotation is illegal.
II. The Use of Information Provided by the RWCT Site
1. Limitation of Liability
The RWCT site deals, inter alia, with materials created and published in the Internet by the third party. Being unable to control the contents of such materials, the NP CPRWCT shall therefore not be liable for:
- the quality of information and other materials obtained via the RWCT site from any third party and their possible non-compliance with generally accepted standards or User's expectations;
- the effects of using the obtained information.
2. Kinds of Information Provided by the RWCT Site
Materials provided by the RWCT site are divisible into three groups:
- free-for-all;
- with restricted access;
- chargeable.
2.1. Free-for-All Information
Information is regarded as free-for-all, if access to it is open for all users. By "open access" we mean that all users are provided the right of public browsing.
Note: Other use of the information without an appropriate agreement with the Consortium is prohibited.
2.2. Restricted-Access Information
By "restricted-access information" we herein mean information which due to its confidentiality or other features cannot have unconstrained access.
- The Consortium does not provide unconstrained access to information about its financial and organizational activities, as well as to materials it has been granted on a restricted-access basis.
2.3. Chargeable Information
Chargeable information is represented by materials which are intellectual property of the Consortium or its partners and which are therefore protected by the existing legislation. The charge for using each of the materials is defined by the Consortium individually.
Note: Some materials representing intellectual property of the Consortium or its partners may be published, in whole or in part, at the discretion of the Consortium as open (free-for-all) or restricted-access information.
When using the contents of chargeable materials, the User shall have the right to make no more than the stipulated number of copies of each item of material.
Other terms of using such materials may be determined individually by agreement of the parties. The subject of the agreement may include:
- the right of publication of the material;
- the right of unrestricted dissemination of the material within the User's organization;
- the right of transferring the material to a third party.
Information on the kinds of chargeable materials and terms of their purchasing is available in respective sections of the RWCT site.
III. Using the Information about the Users
Registration Data
The Consortium reserves the right to request the User for identification information. Such information shall not be free-for-all unless agreed otherwise by the parties.
In particular, the Consortium guarantees that any registration data or other identification information
- shall not be used for the purposes of direct-mail advertising without the User's permission;
- shall not be transferred to any third party without the User's permission.
