The Publications Committee of the RWCT International Consortium is happy to announce that the Thinking Classroom/Peremena journal has a new team of content editors, one from Canada and one from Ukraine. These people are highly experienced professionals and we expect the journal to flourish under their wise and competent guidance. The in-coming team has already joined the out-going team in preparing issue 7-1 (January, 2006) for publication.

Alison Preece, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Language & Literacy with the Faculty of Education, University of Victoria, in British Columbia, Canada. She is currently Academic Director of an interdisciplinary program in Intercultural Education, and Co-Director of graduate programs in Early Childhood Education. A former elementary school teacher, she has been actively involved throughout her career in teacher education, professional development, and curricular reform, both in Canada and internationally. Author of numerous articles on involving students in the evaluation process, she is co-author of Evaluating Literacy: A Perspective for Change and Young Writers in the Making (Heinemann). A volunteer with the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking Project from the outset, she has worked extensively in Macedonia and Armenia, served as Certifier in Romania, and helped introduce the project to Pakistan. Ongoing research involves nationally funded projects on child health literacy; community support for young learners; and strategies for youth engagement. Her research was recognized with IRA Outstanding Dissertation Award and her teaching with the University Excellence in Teaching Award. She has been a member of the Editorial Review Board since the journal s inception.

Natalia Kaloshina, M.A., is Assistant Professor at Sevastopol National Technical University (Ukraine). She is professional editor (non-fiction and academic books) and literary translator (books by W. Collins, S. le Fanu, V. Naipaul, J. Austen, I. Murdoch, A. Christie, L. Stewart, etc.). She has translated for the journal and for RWCT program since 2001.
