E. Wendy Saul, Ph.D. serves as the Allen B. and Helen S. Shopmaker Endowed Professor of Education and International Studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
She is the author/editor of numerous books and articles on critical
literacy and the teaching of non-fiction text and is a frequent
presenter at national and international conferences. Recent titles
include Beyond the Science Fair: The Kids' Inquiry Conference
(Heinemann 2005), Crossing Borders to Science and Literacy
(IRA 2004), and a piece for Reading Research Quarterly titled
"Choosing and Using Information Trade Books." Saul has also
served as principal investigator for (U.S.) National Science
Foundation grants totaling well over $5 million. She also coordinated
the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking Project,
working extensively in Lithuania and Azerbaijan. Saul is an elected
Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and
recipient of the Regents Prize for Public Service from the University
of Maryland. She served as English content editor throughout the
journal’s history and copyedited the first six issues. |

of RWCT Center in Moscow. She chairs the publications committee of
the RWCT International Consortium. She has served as Russian
copyeditor and manager of translation work for this bilingual journal
throughout its history and has also been Russian content editor since

Inna Valkova, Ph.D., director of an independent testing organization,
Center for Educational Assessment and Teaching Methods, in Bishkek,
Kyrgyzstan, national coordinator of OECD Program for International Student
Assessment (PISA), author of books and articles on evaluation and
teaching methods. Headed RWCT program in Kyrgyzstan in 1997-2003.
Founder and director of Critical Thinking Laboratory in American
University in Central Asia (AUCA). She was the journal’s
Russian content editor in 2001-2003. |
